NUT PLUG is ground walnut shell, a lost circulation material that can be used in both oil-base and water-base systems. It is available in three sizes, fine, medium and coarse. Walnut shell can be mixed in combination with other LCM.

APPLICATION
NUT-PLUG cellulose is an effective lost circulation treating material. It has a granular shape, and can be used in a blend of various sizes (fine, medium, and coarse) to prevent lost circulation or regain returns once losses begin. NUT-PLUG hulls are available in two types of material: pecan and walnut. The walnut hulls have greater strength.
RECOMMENDED TREATMENT
Typical treating levels for preventative measures are from 2 - 5 lb/bbl (5.7 - 14.2 kg/m3), and for more severe losses use 5 - 25 lb/bbl (14.2 - 71.3 kg/m3). NUT-PLUG material has a high compressive strength, and can be used, if desired, as a lubricant.
PACKAGING
NUT-PLUG (F-M-C) is available in 25 kg multi-ply paper sacks, palletized as 40 sacks per pallet.
